Spam mod needed.

Seems that plenty of Boonex users have trouble with persistant spammers.

default Dolphin security can be good for a while but then it gets worked around

spammers have so many ways to change the way they work round dolphin security and it can make admin job a pain at times!

Wouldnt it be possible to develop a mod that allowed you to go through members in admin, and with 1 click they get added to every block/black list that is currently available to run in dolphin?

IP block, email block, whatever else is possible...

This would make things much easier for most users who dont have the time or knowledge to manually try to block each spammer on an individual basis. 

1 click mod would be a great asset I think to market...

I agree, i get every day new members but all are just spammers. Since i get attacked in my site, i can't delete anymore the members without refreshing. So i guess they become members but not with the best intentions ....! Security is a big big issue to be solved ....

I have suggested similar before. Someone would need to keep a database of blacklists, and the mod would have to check the list and update it as it blocks the user.

I do think someone could make considderable money running this as a service.

Blocking IP's is a fruitless effort. You & everyone on Boonex could block IP's until they are blue in the face & you'll still get signups from these guys.

The spammers use a signup script which can be thwarted in a number of ways. A Page masking JOIN.PHP & splitting the join form into Steps helps a ton! I haven't received a SINGLE spammer signup since I've added a splash page. Adding recaptcha can help as well.
