Standard Membership

I am the using the "Standard Membership" for a select few of my clients that I am giving "free" membership to my site.  For some reason I have members that are jumping from the "Promo" Membership to the "Standard Membership" instead of paying for the site with the 2 payment membership tiers.

How do I fix this?

Promo, which should have the added benefits of a paid membership, can have a trial period before automatically being upgrade to standard as standard is the default membership level.  So therefore, you would need to make your standard membership have less benefits that would encourage members to upgrade to a higher membership level after their promo period is up.....hope I didn't confuse anybody there.

Is there a way of manually changing someone's membership to the "paid" membership without having them pay?

you go into your admin panel click on members then click on the user id then change there membership from there profile then click save at the bottom
