Starting to unravel MATCHMAKING, but w/ one major hiccup...

1. It will match you up with any member, male or female. How do I make the field for male or female mandatory for a match and unrelated to the matching percentage? I can't believe it was designed to include either sex in the matches.

2. There is no option for ordering the matches according to match percentage

3. In fact, try ordering the matches by  "Latest Activity" or "Registration Date" and you'll get a blank box--they disappear.

Now mysteriously it's not producing any matches at all. Not sure what I changed, but it definitely wasn't anything significant.

The matchmaking system is infuriating. Where are the Dolphin gurus around here??

Those items you listed do make the match system useless but what REALLY is the deal breaker is the fact that it doesn't have a limit on it. In other words once it starts matching there is no stopping it. I have seen people here complain they had 10,000+ match emails sitting in their que waiting to go out! Now THAT is a nightmare. I think it's so badly flawed that everyone gave up on it and maybe that is why no one has any fixes. Plus it seems the trend now is to use Dolphin for non-dating sites so most of the people concerned with it are the ones who can't turn it OFF.

Thanks for pointing that out, mscott. I guess a compromise solution would be to block the autoemails while still allowing for matchmaking...if only matchmaking on Dolphin wasn't designed for bisexuals. I mean, really, that is a huge oversight.

The percentage system is pretty good to the extent it works. For instance, you can have 10 matched fields and assign each a weight (percentage), which is cool, but it looks like some combinations shut the whole thing down (perhaps multiple checkbox selector matched with a single selector is buggy, I don't know).

So earlier I was able to determine that the percentages for the individual fields worked, but I made a couple minor changes and now it's not working again. I'll have to go one by one and figure out which ones are not matching up. This whole thing is not at all surprising when the Range field doesn't even work.

So I got matching working again and ordering the matches is functional, but it looks like there is no way to exclude men/women in the matches without sacrificing the View Match Percentages. Otherwise it can be done, so for now I'm good.

How did you order the matches? I'd like to have this function as well... listing the higher percentages first.
