Switching website to new domain name

Hello there. I bought a domain name that I want to use.

How do I start the process and update my site with the new web address?

Please start from step 1 as I am a noob!

Thanx!

Just open the file inc/header.inc.php and change it there.

Then delete all your cache.

1 get the new domain on your server.

2. your host can change your domain name from the control panel or httpd

3. so domain is propogated and changed on your hosting account

4. edit the header.inc.php file where it has your previous domain name (the username should not change if you are on cpanel) /home/yourname/public_html

5. login to ftp or file manager on cPanel if you have it, and open the cache directory, on the menu item, you will see a select all option, do the select all, and then hold down ctrl and left click on the file named .htaccess. if on ftp ctrl+a to select all, then ctrl+left-click to deselect the file named .htaccess

ok that should get you going.
