TOTALLY DISILLUSIONED WITH BOONEX

Last week I had my website suspended by my Hosting Provider because my site had been hacked by spammers from ADLAND ISLAND. I have used every possible means to stop this from happening by using the Country Block Module; IP Blacklist activated all anti-spam tools available via Admin. Luckily I was able to resolve the problem was and my website was activated again, but being closely monitored by my hosting provider

Today after implementing all these precautions I again I find someone had registered from the ADLAND ISLANDS.  I therefore block their IP address using the IP Blocker. WRONG THING TO DO, as my own IP address has also been blocked rendering my site totally inaccessible YET AGAIN. I contacted my hosting provider who dealt with the problem immediately but unfortunately they were unable to resolve the problem this time. This is the report I got from them:

Hello,

We have cleared all the country and IP blocks. Unfortunately this has not resolved the issue. Additionally we disabled the component which is filtering the logins:

http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/IP-Black-listed-everyone-including-myself-.htm

following the instructions in the above forum post. Unfortunately this has not resolved the issue as well. In order to have proper function to unblock the IPs created you will have to contact the authors of the application or you may post a request for such in the community forum of the application.

Unfortunately we are not part of the Dolphin development team to provide you with such custom patches.

If the above is not an option the only thing we may offer you is to delete completely the current Dolphin instance and setup a new one with the automated block function disabled.

In order to request new setup to be added to your account you may post a ticket under the Script Installation category.

Should you have any further questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us.

Unless anyone can resolve this problem for me then 4 months hard work will have been for nothing, a substantial amount of money wasted on Modules that will be of no use what so ever. I am so totally frustrated and disillusioned that I am seriously considering shutting the site down, for the Boonex Dophin software is just a mine field of bugs, glitches and booby traps. You get to the stage where you are scared to do anything different, just in case the whole thing blows up in your face YET AGAIN!!!.

I have not been able to work for the past 6 years due to server depression and ME/CFS working on my website has been very therapeutic for me but not anymore. You can imagine how this has left me feeling along with a very nasty taste of BOONEX lingering in my mouth. Not everyone has the knowledge of HTML, PHP, MySQL, having read the many posts in the forums I can see that I am not the only one who is disillusioned.

I cannot thank the producers of the modules and forum members for all the help and support that they have given me, over these past 4 months. I only wish I could say the same about the BOONEX TEAM sadly I can’t. They seriously need to listen to all the people who use their software for without them they are nothing. I would suggest to “the Team” that they sit down and write a user’s manual, like other Open-Source software providers do i.e. Moodle, 3CX Telephone Systems, Joomla , phpmyadmin and many more.

There is no point offering incentives and sweeteners of reducing the price of Prime and Enterprise support packages. The reason you are not selling is because your basic standard of support in non-existent. I ask you who in their right mind is going to part with well earned money for support, when they have been left high and dry at the entry level. I am sorry it has come to this but as far as I am concerned enough is enough Boonex really needs to get their act together instead of burying their heads in the sand and pretending the problems don’t exist.

Yours feeling totally disillusioned and deserted.

Hi Prolaznic and rhimpr

Your generosity is overwhelming and very much appreciated, once again the members to the rescue. I have been able to access my website via www.proxy.org which has turned out to be an invaluable tool, it is well worth a look.

I have disabled the IP BLOCKER, which was the source of the problem. Please can you tell me what I need to do to protect my site from spammers.

Once again many thank

Sincer regards
