Repeat what you said: it seems AlexT got you.

I honestly wouldn't know what a typical Dolphin web site requires in bandwidth, but that seems fine to me. Then again, I just get by with my 25MB/25MB from FiOS.

It's fine as long as your visitors are not into watching videos or playing music or video chatting. It's the multimedia stuff that chews up bandwidth.

If your site is doing a lot of multimedia stuff, then 5mb will not support very many users.

I'm in an industrial area and the best I can do over the wires is a T1 (1.5). After much searching I found a company that was providing a true wireless internet solution. It is a bit expensive. They have their transmitters strategically located around Denver with their main one on top of one of the high rises downtown. My shop is about 4 miles from it and line of site (I can see the top of the building from my parking lot)

They sell a bunch of different data packages that range from 1.5 Mbit all the way up to 100Mbit. These are true commercial grade connections that are symetrical up and down (5-5 up and down, 50-50 up and down, etc.)

The 5 Mbit will run me about $299 a month. The nice thing is I could actually start with the 1.5 at around a C note and upgrade it anytime with just a phone call. The company name is Telos and they have been around since about 1987.

My original question was how big could my D7 grow before I would start having bandwidth problems with a true 5Mbit connection if I had a fast Linux box that only had 1 job, serve my Dolphin....?
