I have the image_src in my header HTML as follows: <link rel="image_src" href="image url here" />
...which provides a graphic for external sites to pull out when a link is submitted (on Facebook for example). However, what I would like to do is have the images on whatever page it is you're linking to be shown as the thumbnail option. This is especially important for Groups. Any ideas?

Hmmm... interesting. No sooner than had I submitted this post I popped a link to a group from our site onto Facebook... and sure enough the main picture from the group showed up along with the image_src as a second option! Seems it depends on what the linking site crawls maybe. |
agree with you bro i ask for this to AntonLV and he tell me this

Hello
1. There is no way in the default Dolphin to get all thumbnails with
links and so on. You need to create a custom mod.

Things seemed to open up for me when I enabled non-members to view certain content too. This meant that the site I was putting a group link on (for example) was able to crawl the page for any images and present a choice for me when writing the link. I think that's the only way - make the content you wish to share available to guests too. |
agree this is the only cool wait to share stuff from any page on your site and people will get more traffic
for the site for the whoo people is using Dolphin 7
why you need to run a site with out sharing image, videos, music etc thumbnails that's totally suck

And sure enough, today the images are not sharing. I upgraded to 7.0.2 last night, maybe this has something to do with it... sadly. |

And sure enough... today the images ARE sharing. This is odd. The page you want an image to be shared on must be available to non-members and from what I can see if an image is larger than the image_src in dimensions in the header section then it is included in the thumbnail options when linking.

Hi,
i did put <link rel="image_src" href="image url here" /> in my _header.html in both "Base" and mein default template directory.
I tried with both PNG and JPG and use also <link rel="image_src" href="image url here" /> from other site that are working.
But I don't arrive to get my thumbnail in Facebook.
Can you tell me if I am doing something wrong or I did you get it to work ?
THANKS

I am able to generate a thumbnail by using the link in the header for Facebook sharing, but for instance with videos I am trying to generate the video thumbnail, which I can do, if I hard code the link to the videos thumbnail "videoID + _small.jpg" but how do I get the videos ID dynamically and how to I use the correct syntax for creating the link?
Anyone?
At all?
