Has anyone been successful installing an image upload plugin to work with TinyMCE?
I've tried ibrowser and tinybrowser but can't seem to get either working.
Can anyone shed light on why BxBaseConfig.php has more than one link to a TinyMCE .js file?
Thanks.

ibrowser is an old script AFAIK.
I use this on my CMS but also have to use an older version of TinyMCE to get it to work

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Do you mean you had to integrate an older version of TinyMCE with Dolphin for the plugin to work?
I've tried numerous plugins today with no luck. Confirmation of your TinyMCE version would be a great help.
Thanks.

LOL in a way.
My CMS is quite old now - the version of Tiny_MCE / iBrowser I used was current at the time.
Please note, I do not use this in Dolphin, it is in my own CMS - 'DMCMS'
Tiny_MCE Version: 2.0.9 (2007-01-09)
iBrowser Version 1 (2004-10-04)
You can download my CMS to get both Tiny_MCE and iBowser if required.
Point to note is that I am not sure what differences there will be between Tiny_mce 2.0.9 and the latest version (3.2.4.1). My guess is that there will most likely be some security issues that were addressed. My CMS does not have user interaction so only admins have access to the editor - with Dolphin this is obviously not the case.
I am just in the process of getting the CMS together for release 1 - I might take a look at updating Tiny_MCE. Not sure if this will be something that will happen within next week or so though.

BTW - if you have a newer version of iBrowser I would LOVE a copy. There was at least a V1.2 released but I could never get a copy.
Perhaps if I do get it working with the latest Tiny_MCE I will open up a derivative works - it's released under GNU. A lot of people ask for this kind of mod too.

I have version 1.3.6 which I got from here: http://seoroot.com/blog/computing/programming/tinymce-ibrowser-plugin.html
I've spent most of the day trying to get this to work in Dolphin with no success - I've tried other plugins too.
I'm suprised there's not already a solution available as I thought this would be a mod that a lot of people need.

If you want to see how iBrowser works you can take a look at the demo on my site http://demo.deeemm.com/
Login and go to adit / add a post then click the picture icon in the Tiny_MCE editor. Choose 'Media Library' as the image library from the drop down list (there's some pictures already there to play with).
It's not great but does allow for image inclusion and also direct image upload.

Oooohh Goody

I just downloaded the latest Tiny_MCE. Will have a play with these when I get a chance.

Mnnn this version looks a LOT different to mine (looks much nicer IMO) also appears to have multi file upload too. Dolphin - Ajax Masturbation |
OK - just upgraded Tiny_MCE.
All working no probs but seem to have missing 'image browser' button.

So can anyone actually confirm if they have an image upload function built into their TinyMCE editor on a website on the Boonex Dolphin platform?
Someone must have managed to do this before... Can any admin at Boonex confirm if there is something we need to configure in order to get plugins for TinyMCE such as iBrowser to work??
Any feedback appreciated, thank

Try moxiecode they support Tiny_MCE. It's not a Boonex product. If you want to use the versions that I have it will most likely work.
@ITMDesign - what issues are you having with the iBrowser? I'm looking at the version you linked to now and first off cannot see the button in the editor.
Also the plugin seems to be for Tiny_MCE version 2.05
Will try to work through this a step at a time.

OK - newer version available from http://www.net4visions.com/25.html
.
I have this working in my CMS so no reason why it will not work in Dolphin.
.
Points to note - use version above, add 'ibrowser' plugin to tiny_mce.init, make sure you set your directory paths correctly in config.inc.php
.
Simple ;)

Thanks very much for your help DeeEmm, I'm going to try as you have suggested and see if that works. :) |
I still can't get this to work. I've tried the latest version and followed the instructions but I can't even get the ibrowser button to appear.
When I was trying with the older version of ibrowser yesterday, it caused TinyMCE not to work at all. It still works with this new version installed (which is something at least) but the button doesn't show.
Can anyone confirm they've got this working in Dolphin?

ITMDesign.
.
I also could not see the button, this stopped being a problem when I used the newer version. You might also need to clear your cache..
.
The problem i now have is that clicking on the button does nothing - it seems that either the javascript is conflicting with another function on the page, or that the plugin needs to be wrapped / added somehow. Thats as far as I got last night.
.
I have had this working with the latest version of Tiny_mce - no probs. I tried updating tiny_mce in dolphin to the latest version, but it stopped working. Not sure what to tackle first.

hi
ezfilemanager plugin for tinymce works to a certain extent.
You can get the folder button to appear on the tinymce control panel and it works for uploading images , media and other files.
I am having problems getting the browse files function to work in the insert/edit iamge button that comes as standard with tinymce.
the biggest problem with exfilemanager and all the other available free plugins is that they do not support password protected files or folders, this means anyone can delete, edit or change files that are uploaded.
to get a safe and secure file manager for doplhin that members can use ius going to be quite a major mod project.
you can check out what you can do with the standard ezfilemmanger plugin at yfenni.net - it's currently set up to work under, blogs, events, classifieds and articles.

Hi yfenni, thanks for the suggestion. I'll give ezfilemanager a go. |
ezfilemanager integrated with no problems, thanks yfenni.
Aswell as trying ibrowser I also tried tinybrowser, neither of which I could get working. So for anyone in the future wanting image uploads use ezfilemanager.

Thanks for the tip - will have a look at this
Havan't had a chance to have another look at ibrowser - have been waiting for reply to question about updating tiny_mce (hoping it is just a versioning issue) but no luck so far.

Would be curious to see if you can get ibrowser working. Keep us updated please. |

I second this - looks a whole bunch better than ibrowser too.
Like the fact that it adds the file manager functionality too, but as yfenni points out it ideally needs permissions handling.

Will do.
Yfenni - I think your problem is simply that the function ezfilemanager is not getting called. I found I had to place put mine outside of the tiny_mce.init function - NOT inside before the closing tag as they suggest. I actually placed mine just below the tiny_mce_GZ.init function call.

Hi thanks for that I'll give it a try.
I'm not using it at the moment because it's insecure to put on a public site because anyone can change the files that have been uploaded and the file browser function is being called in the embed media mod I've put together and I do'nt want people uploading video and music because of the bandwidth issues.
But it would be good to play about with the coding of ezfilemanger because it can not be too difficult to set some permissions and automatically open a new folder for each member.
I'll look into it after I've dealt with my sub catergories mod for articles.
now i'm beginning to get used to dolphin I'm really beginning to enjoy it, it must be the best open source social media software available. I hope everyone has voted!

Wondering if anyone can help me out with ezfilemanager.
I managed to get the button into the editor, but when I click on it, I get a pop up that says "Select Directory to Browse", but it's all grey and nothing to select.
I'm currently on 6.1.6 , and I'm using tinymce that was included with 6.1.6.
Thank You,
Carol
