Top Menu extends Page Width

Hi All ,

I am afraid i screwed my top menu by shuffling the items around ... it now extends the page width so that the dropdown menu and language selection etc is only visible by scrolling to the right.

How can i get it back so that the top menu fits the page size again ?

How can i move some items into the dropdown menu part?

Can someone pls help me.

Look in administration/ advanced / other  

always down look for :

The number of elements in the navigation menu which will be desplayed before the More link for logged in members.: here you can give in how many items are on the menu

Sounds like you have too many tabs in the nav bar. Just go to the Menu Builder and go the block that you want moved, move the cursor around it until you see an icon with 4 arrows on it (that means you could move it) and drag it beneath whatever tab you want it in (so it will then be in the drop down menu). Let me know if that works.

unfortunately it just extends the single menu points and the menu is still extending the site :(

You didn't by chance edit any files, did you? Also, you wouldn't have a small screen resolution by chance, would you?

it does not seem to work - im really desperate coz i don't understand where the problem is here ...

in fact i added a german  language pack but on both my installation the same way and simultaneously ... one installation is fine and the other is screwed ... also i guess the language files do not affect the design? if i switch to english, its still the same ..

try to re-upload the default uni template

i just looked at your site and the other two templates that you have they work fine so it's something in uni template

What have you done in the UNI template, the custom templates are good. 
To me it looks that there is something done with the width of the menu tabs.. 
But I have no idea at the moment sorry

Yes, I was also thinking it was a CSS edit concerning the width of the menus.

no i did not change anything in the pages width - i upped the uni design already once but will try once more :)

i know pro, his mods are great so i will be back after i upped the uni design and tried my luck ...

Right now the width of your topmenu is set at 1278px. This width peram is generated by the pageview script at runtime. It cannot be overridden in CSS.

Now this value is determined by what the page widths are set to.

So my suggestion. is to go into the page builders and look at the page width for each of the pages and see if it is set for 998px

Don't forget to look at the bottom on the page builder for the other page width setting. One of these must be throwing it off.

at least i see what you mean - i did not come to the idea to try the other designs and yes they are fine ...

its totally not obvious to me where i should have changed something, tbh (i don't even know where to change the tab widths for the top menu) ..

and i can't believe that - i upped the base & the uni and its consisting .... i will now download the base & uni from the working page and try to throw it on the other ...

Its been the page with setting in the pages builder .... the setting for the front page width was on 1000x ........
