Tranfer Files

OK if I want to change the location of my files from http://www.getglobalexposure.com/mycommunity to Http://www.getglobalexposure.com will that be an issue for all the files?  Can I just move the files?  Will that break 1000's of links of pictures, videos' yada yada?

Sure you can move them if you want. I wouldn't just copy specific folders. If you are moving your whole site, then thats fine. Just make sure that you change the inc/header.inc.php file to reflect the new path. Like these:

$site['url']

$dir['root']

I would think both of these have /mycommunity after them, that needs to be removed.

Is the site self contained in the mycommunity file or is there other folders or files outside of that folder

If your site was something like. www.mysite.com/community then the /community directory hold all the files/directories needed for dolphin. There isnt anything outside of that.. like directly on the root.

Why do you ask?

The guy I work with on the mapping application has several folders outside the mycommunity and just wanted to make sure they were not dolphin files.......

from a standard install, the files are self-contained as with basically any and all webapps. they do not change until you customize the paths.

csamson, you should confer with your mapping fella, and he would know or should know if he has moved anything.

i know you meant differently here, but you asked if the site was contained in the mycommunity 'file' and the answer to that is NO, it could possibly be contained in the /mycommunity directory, but not a file.

Is the site self contained in the mycommunity file or is there other folders or files outside of that folder
