Translating Orca Forums to French

HI

Please help, I'm having trouble translating the orca forums into French! I translated the base > langs >language file and escaped all ' with a \ but when I apply the language file and compile the language, Orca throws a fit. Firstly it has an error in the classes > login.php file as any words with an apostrophe don't get the apostrophe escaped so I have to manually do that which is fine but then I get more errors:

Warning: XSLTProcessor::importStylesheet() [xsltprocessor.importstylesheet]: /home/squiders/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/layout/base_en/xsl/edit_categories.xsl:22: parser error : Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding ! Warning: XSLTProcessor::transformToXml() [xsltprocessor.transformtoxml]: No stylesheet associated to this object in /home/squiders/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/classes/en/BxXslTransform.php on line 88

I used Dreamweaver to do the translations and it has been fine with doing the rest of the site. I also tried switching the site to the uni template instead of my custom one (I seem to remember something about putting Orca into the default template before compiling it?) and then compiling the language but it is the same.

Unfortunately due to the French language there are a lot of special characters in there such as é ê è à î ù û ç. Pesumably it is one or more of these characters or the apostrophes causing the problem?

Can anyone help please?

Actually just looked up UTF-8 characters and the French translations should be fine. Is the problem to do with the apostrophes?

Anyone?

Okay so to answer my own question I tried removing all the apostrophes such as in S'il vous plait but got the same error so am guessing it's not due to them...

Okay it appears to be a problem using special characters as I'm definitely using a UTF-8 compatible editor (Dreamweaver and have checked the settings).
