Two Colums On Mobile/Tablet View

Hello all! I have customized the EVO template almost perfectly except one issue. Since its a responsive template, it shrinks everything on a mobile phone to one column. This looks terrible for one, and leaves the site very non-user friendly. Is there a way in the general_phone.css or common_phone.css to show two columns?! I love the responsive aspect of the template as it makes the site clean on almost all devices. I would just really love to figure out a way to make the phone portion two columns, even if that means loading the page zoomed out to a degree.
