Unable to input Birthday in Google Chrome

Hi,

This is a problem I had even in 7.1B1.  You can't input a birth date during the "Join" process with Google Chrome.

Anyone else have this problem?

I was unable to reproduce on my B2 site and the boonex demo site. Both worked fine with Chrome Version 23.0.1271.95 m

I'm using: 24.0.1312.32 under windowsTry updating your Chrome and see if you have the same problem. But even if that doesn't make a difference than it could be anything. I have the same problem with the demo site. If it is just me then it is my problem - but if it happens to a percentage of other users - that would not be good.

Anyone else having this problem. Might be worth a try of other users to try the demo site and try to join. You don;t have to actually join - just try the "Date of Birth" selection and see if it works with Google Chrome.

I cannot seem to find that version of chrome. I have even uninstalled my version which says it's up to date and downloaded a new copy direct from googles website and installed and still show the same version.

I did find a beta version 24.0.1312.35 But it is a beta. The beta does have a problem with the date picker.

Boonex will not try and correct problems for beta versions of browsers so i will not bother to submit a ticket to trac. Not that they would be able to fix it anyway. The date picker issue would most likely be a jquery problem.

I just ruled out a jquery problem with the chrome beta, at least with the current version of jquery on the jquery website. The date picker works there. But may not be the same version dolphin is running either. I'll have to check.

1) Same problem here with Chrome and BirthDate.

"Version 24.0.1312.52 m

Google Chrome is up to date."

2) Can all you Chrome users also check if you in 7.1 can do a Video recording on a comment?
For me it doesn't record me it instead tries to record what is shown on the screen. Bizarre!

The video record; are you using the newest RMS 7.1.0 for 7.1?

When I changed my 7.1 sites to the newer RMS the video comments started to work.

My host is only using RMS 7.0.4.

Do I have to move host or is there any way around to get video recording working?
Newton, when I'm trying to Videorecord on your site it starts recording but I'm getting a Processing error for both IE8 and Chrome 24.

I am also having this issue in Google chrome on my join page birth date calendar. I am using 7.09 and won't be upgrading to 7.1 until at least 4 releases have come out of that version. My Chrome is up to date Version 24.0.1312.52

This is annoying to say the least, I have 2 to 4 people emailing me a day having issues. I just reported this to google as a bug along with a screenshot and url of my join page. Since all the other browsers work fine this seems to be a Chrome issue and not  Dolpin, but I may be wrong, it just started happening so I suspect  latest release of chrome is causing this.

Thanks

J

I am having issues applying this patch to my main site. My test site is a fresh install of 7.09 and this patch worked great but my main site has been updated about 7 times or so and when I applied this patch it did not fix this problem so I am right back to the beginning again. :(

Which fix are you applying?

There are two. 1 was provided by boonex which is for dolphin 7.1 and the other i provided which is for dolphin 7.0.9

And i directed you to that post, so post your problems there instead of here as thats where the patches were provided.

I applied the correct fix and it worked fine after I cleared my cache. Now my advanced settings is locked. I installed a template earlier after applying this fix and now I cannot get into advance settings in any area, the drop downs menus on the advanced settings page don't work in Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Could this be related to the fix I did earlier? I did leave the Jquery checkboxes unchecked in the template area, but can't see how this caused my advanced settings to freeze. I see the menu but when I click a line nothing happens, no menu opens up.Any idea?

Thanks,

J

Then you did not apply the correct fix. Sounds to me like you put the dolphin 7.1 version in dolphin 7.0.9. That was determined it would not work. Keep reading the topic. There is a second solution provided specifically for dolphin 7.0.9.

It's about 30 posts int the topic where it was noticed that the dolphin 7.1 version does not work on 7.0.9.

Thanks Deano for your support!! I did apply the wrong fix and found your post with the correct jquery.webForms.js file for 7.0.9 and it fixed it. Thanks again!

Thanks for the fixes guys!

I beat my head against the wall then remembered for the cloudflare users - you have to purge the cache there too!

Also I'm having this issue with 7.1 and Google Chrome version  24.0.1312.57m  although I can get the calendar to come up you have to use the down arrow to the right of the up/down arrows and its a bit of a dog to get to the appropriate year unless you keep pressing the << arrows!

Quote · 14 Feb 2013

It sounds like you haven't applied the fix mentioned above because there wouldn't be 2 sets of arrows if you had?

Look up, you have to apply the fix.  If you don't have the skills to apply the fix, then you will need to get someone to do it for you that does have the skills.
