Not possable.

There are way to many changes.

You would need to upgrade to 6.1.6 first, then D7 needs to be installed to a subfolder. Then the D7 migration can be used to port 6.1.6 to 7

That is the only known way to do it.

The D7 migration will not port 6.1.4

I have heard people who have migrated from 6.1.4 successfully, but I have not personally done it. If you have a modded 6.1.4 site that has altered alot of tables, then I wouldn't even suggest it. If not, it wouldnt hurt to try it. It will not move your current data, only copy it.

Is there a way to start a D7 and when done move your database from 6.1.4 over to the D7? I want to keep the same url yet keep the site running until I have the D7 set up, modded and running smooth. Thanks in advance.

First, you will need to upgrade your Dolphin 6.1.4 web site to Dolphin 6.1.6. Once done, you can follow the instructions here: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/6.1.6to7.0

Simply install Dolphin 7 into a subdirectory and once done with your migration and customizing of the new web site, you can either remove your old web site, or move it to another directory, and place your Dolphin 7 installation into the main directory. Simply edit the ./inc/header.inc.php file to match the changes made to the directory.
