Uploading sounds problem

Hi everyone.

When ever I upload sounds using the flash uploader, it goes from 1-100 in seconds/minutes and then nothing happens.

Later on the file will appear in the home page (music page) and then I can enter all the details for the file.

Any help?

Cheers

Peter

That is how it functions for me, and it works without problems. After it's done uploading, I have to wait a few more seconds for the information area for the content to appear, and then I can submit it for approval/posting.

As always, make sure you have everything in order, from file and directory permissions, to good-old cron jobs.

I've waited for the box to appear to put info in but it never comes up (but will still appear on the homepage)  is there a fix or anything cause my site is a music website.

Cheers

Have you checked your upload file size limits to make sure its something over 2MB. You can find out by creating a file in notepad and add this:

<?php

phpinfo()

?>

Save it as phpinfo.php and upload it to the root directory of your dolphin install. Look for:

file_uploads  <-- Should be ON

post_max_size <-- Should be the max upload size

upload_max_filesize <-- Should be the same as max upload

Hi there, I have here are the sizes

post_max_size 1000M
upload max filesize 200M

is this recommended?

I also noticed this (on my hosting tools page):

media/app Not Exists Writable
media/images Not Exists Writable
media/images/banners Not Exists Writable
media/images/blog Not Exists Writable
media/images/classifieds Not Exists Writable
media/images/membership Not Exists Writable
media/images/profile Not Exists Writable
media/images/profile_bg Not Exists Writable
media/images/promo Not Exists Writable
media/images/promo/original Not Exist

Writable

could this be the reason?

This may be a silly question but do you have the photo module installed? Look in Tools>Modules and see if it shows as installed. Looks like something is missing.

Might want to check your site to see if these directories show. If not, reupload th e media directory from the installation package.

this information is also available from your admin panel under host tools and host params i think its called.

the other problem that has been faced is the file extension, make sure in the flash apps settings you have the extension listed

Does your Host Tools still say they dont exist? Without looking at your site, its hard to determine if you have any other directories that are missing, corrupted, or misconfigured by some chance. If you have not opened your site yet, I would suggest re-installing D7 to make sure everything got transferred OK.

Have you tried uploading videos yet?

To re-install, If you have cPanel, FTP the install zip over to your site root directory and then uncompress it from cPanel. Start the install process over again. Should take but a few minutes that could save hours of troubleshooting. (I would clean up the previous install before re-installing and use a new database)

DosDowg,  the file is uploading,  like i say it goes from 0-100 instantly and then it will appear on hoimepage minutes after. Because the audio on my site is around 100-200mb sizes it takes about 20 minutes to show on the page and I dont get the form to fill the music details.

I haven't got videos enabled as my host doesn't allow it. I have youtube embed which works fine.

I don't really want to reinstall because i have spent quite a bit of money on custom mods that i can't install.

I really don't know what to do to be honest.

My host tools said it doesn't exist which is true enough, it didn't?? I reuploaded it just there and still no change.

Try clearing your ./cache directory, keeping the .htaccess file intact.

Anymore suggestions?

Since you had previously found some directories missing try re-uploading the flash/modules/video directory from the install package.

I reuploaded it and its still doing it!

I reuploaded the files module as well as I made some changes to it not long ago and it's still doing it!

I think the fix would have to be paying someone to create a new uploader cause the dolphin one is crap!

This is happening to me for the last a few days too. Everything was fine until the last a few days - nothing was changed. When you upload a music file, it just says complete but nothing really shows up. There is no error or anything.

Long shot but check your hard drive space on the server and what you are allowed.    in cpanel check server stats and look at the drives to see if any of them are at 100% or close to it.

I have unlimited disk space on my reseller account. I check the current server it's running off and it's got over 100Gb left.

I spoke to BoonEx and they said they didn't make the flash uploader and can't remember where they found the flash script?? So they can't help me with it!

if anyone know the vendor of the script please let nme know,  this bug is doing my head in!
