Urgent: Deleted Cache Site DOWN

Hi,

While trying to sort out my template related issues. I reuploaded the original template folders (base and tmpl_uni) plus my other template folder (the one purchased from unity.

I then deleted my cache folder and cache-public folder (i probs shouldnt have done this). But my site is now inaccessible. The main site has loads of errors and cant login. At the same time I cannot even log in to my administration panel.

Can someone please help asap as this is a live site and it being down with these errors is costing me badly.

1. Download Dolphin 7.0.1 (Available from web site)
2. Decompress the compressed file (Unzip the zipped file)
3. Upload the ./cache/ and ./cache_public/ directories to their proper place on your web server using FTP (SFTP preferred)
4. Re-set the needed directory permissions, if needed

Have fun.

If you have the cache deleted, have you also the htaccess deleted?  Try upload these from the installation map on your pc. THis could be the pblem you have now.

If you have deleted the entire folder and not just the contents of the folder. Then yes, reupload those from the original dolphin archive and set the permissions of those folders to writable. Mode 777.


As an alternative, you can just create the folders, set permissions to writable mode 777 and create a .htaccess file in cache folder with one line that reads Deny from all

or 755 in most cases now a days   644 on .htaccess ....

Thanks for the replies, but sorry I could not get back before as I had to take my little girl to hospital as she fell in the park when playing and had a nasty cut on her lips.

I did not delete the actual folders but the content within them. I have copied the original file (.htaccess) from original cache to my site one.

I am getting all these following errors on just trying to load up the administration page. It seems to me that it is looking for files in cache which are not there. There are some files in cache but none of the profiles files or the files mentioned below:

Finally got it working. I had to give ISUR permission for modify and write to cache and cache public....

I believe the issue is that you are using IIS, and not Apache. Much of Dolphin relies on Apache (such as the .htaccess files). You'll have to make some adjustments for it to work properly.
