User deleted account - email notification

Hi all,

I am sure I saw it, but can not find it anywhere now, so would appreciate a little help here:

all I want is to get an email notification whenever a user deletes an account, the same way Admin gets one when there is a new user...

I am sure I saw it somewhere, or was I dreaming....???

Seems like users can only suspend their account, not delete it...  I might be wrong.  Not sure about this one.

unregister.php.

@OP: I think you're confusing emails with the spy wall.

It may not be in the base Dolphin, I might have seen it in a Mod, but searched the market with no luck either...

Users can delete their account, it is the unregister option in fact, that deletes all info from DB.

I just wanted to get an email whenever that happens...

Post this in a job section

PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first

Ok, thanks, so no known solution, that is all I needed to know.

We will try ourselves and then post in jobs if we are unable to do it.

just a note on this, and i dont think this should be something that has to be posted in the jobs section, this should be something the admin of the site is notified of.

here is the reason why. if as admin you delete a users account, i believe there are parts being left behind. why would i say that? well a site has a member who sends in a request to be removed from the site. admin deletes the account. on the next monthly newsletter said ex-member writes in with hostility stating that he had requested to be removed from the site, yet he is still receiving match notifications as well as newsletter mailings.

so if unregister.php removes a member purportedly, i dont know that this has actually been explored, but say the member wishes to exit the site, the option is to be unregister, Sasha can you explain how the unregister process works?

also, can you explain how the registration process works. i know at one point it was stated that upon registration, the member is auto-opt-in on mailings, so where is that setting at, and if a member unregisters, does it remove them from the auto-opt-in?

a notice should be sent upon unregister, and this should not be something posted in the jobs section on odesk. this is an oversight of sorts from the conception of the application.

Thanks for the suport!!!!

Latelly I have been getting either no answers or answers that are of not much use....was starting to wonder abou that community feel....

You are right, our main concern is with DB check...for instance, if a user deletes their account, all his comments are deleted, except the ones with an answer to it....that causes an "Anonymous" user to show up, where the empty avatar takes the form of the avatar of the user which is viewing the comment...you would not beleive the freaked out users that came back reporting their foto was stollen...

In this example, we have to manually clear de DB, hence, it would help a lot to know when we have to do it, which would be when or if we got an email about a deleted account....

The part that you typed which I made BOLD is a serious thing. so yeah, a simple email would be very nice to receive.

by the way, post in jobs section, is something i read a bit too often inhere. where is the community spirit?
