Using 1 Database for 2 D7 App

Greetings -

I have 2 D7.0.6 installed on the same server, I wanted to experience having one database pointing to 2 D7 App with different domains so I can only maintain one site, and the 2nd site gets updated automatically. I got it working for about a day, but today I got this following error message: 

"It seems to be script is not installed.."

I am not sure if this error was due to having the same database pointing to 2 sites or something else.

Please note, I did change the site back to its own database setting, but I am still having this problem.

I'd appreciate any input you can provide. Thank you.

Maybe the file inc/header.inc.php is damaged or not pointing to the right database.

either header.inc.php is missing from one of the folders or the install folder is in place in one of the folders.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the problem is with header.inc.php  - I tried to change Database info to point it to another Database, but now I am having problems with this file. My delima is, since this is a new installation, I don't have a backup of this file. I copied another header.inc.php from another site which is the same version D7.0.6 (not sure if this is a good idea), I changed the database info and the home path as follows:

Path:
$dir['root']               = "/home/sitehome/public_html/";

Database inof:
$db['user']                = 'username';
$db['passwd']              = 'xyz$$$$$xyz';
$db['db']                  = 'test_community';

But still can't get it to work. I was wondering if I need to make a change somewhere else within this file, or if there is a way to recreate this file header.inc.php without reinstalling the whole thing.

not sure if you left this out from your post but did you chnage the domain name at the top of header.inc.php as well ?

Chat Issues -

By the way Jay, I went thru your profile, I see that you helped others with the Chat issues. I am having similar issues as well, I was told that my server does not hold the Ports permanently. I have 3 sites that were installed recently, they are all having issues with the Chat.
