VIDEO upload error - cron report... any help?

After a few days of not being able to upload videos (seperate thread...), Im getting emails from cron reports after each failed attempt.

Im not so up on getting this technical and am not getting much response on this one from my server host.

If anyone can figure out what this is about and what I need to do, you would be a lifesaver! (or at least a Dolphin user saver!)

Heres a sample of the email reports....

Ive cleared cache, used flash and normal uploader, all file types and no resolve so far.

Strangely enough, my server host is able to upload videos to the account but I am not.

Is it a codec issue or something? Even though its the same on all file types I try...

Try to remove that video file, and not upload this again. It seems that ffmpeg.exe unable to convert this file.

this error type can appear in rare cases.

Quote · 25 Apr 2010

problem is, its doing it with everything I try to upload!

flv, mov, wmv, mp4, mpg the lot....

Nothing to remove as the file just 'dissapear' into thin air once they apparently upload...

Very confused over this.

So this appear after uploading any file type?

Or this caused only of 1 of your files?

Yes, commonly this is codec issue of ffmpeg application.

Quote · 25 Apr 2010

think this is for each video I try to upload.

Have been getting nowhere with ttrying to sort this and noticed a few other posts about people having problems with uploading videos.

Is this common with Dolphin???

The script looks like it could be good but if it wont handle the video uploads its no good to me :-(

Usully guys having troubles with permissions, or if sources corrupted.

As example if you will upload files in Text mode - such sources possible will not work. I always advicing to use Binary file transfer mode.

More, need draw attention to ffmpeg version. It present in 3 variations  - for unix (lynux), freeBsd, windows.

So need to have correct version.

Next, it possible that cron jobs not working or was not installed, So will need to check it too.

And, as was told before, few videos can have wrong file format so ffmpeg can`t convert it. But it really rare.

script was installed by hostforweb using the softaculer installer. i thought it would be a 1 click install as advertised but is turning out to be a nightmare of support tickets and forum posts...

HFW have told me the ffmpeg settings have been set correct, all file permissions, cron jobs etc... everything that everyone has mentioned in forum posts so far.

i also have 9 different HFW technical support workers all working on the same ticket switching from one to the other which makes me think that noone is really looking into my situation and its just getting bounced around a 'call centre' support network.

Should have been an easy install according to the boonex site and hostforweb (boonex recomended hosts) - but has been far from it and am near to moving on already. Am just looking for an easy to use community script and dont want to go back to ning...!

Quote · 25 Apr 2010

Even don`t know, installation itself is easy process, usually take less 10 min. I not sure why these guys can`t install it in one time. And why need so many tickets. You can install D7 by self as example. So you will know about any difficulties here.

okay so now something new... I am able to upload a video if it is REALY small file size. I just uploaded on that was around 300kb in size. I then try to upload the same flv but the full version (8mb) and I get an error screen. After the longer video gets to the end of the uploader, I get a screen that says 'ACCESS DENIED' and has the log in, sign up options available. At the top of the screen I can see that my account is still logged in, but under the access denied bit, it shows me as a guest user. Looks like somewhere in the upload process it is not recognising me as logged in. Apart from with realy realy small file sizes... User time out of some sort for file uploads???

at long last... it works!

the last thing that was changed was the maximum file upload size.

Dont ask why this wasnt correct at the beginning especialy as I had asked HFW to check on this earlier...

At least it now works and I can get to test drive Dolphin properly!

happy days
