Validation Woes ...

Ok, this email validation thing really needs to be resolved. Everytime someone joins my site, gets activated, then goes back to make changes or add to their profile, their membership gets de-activated. When I start signing up dozens or more new members a day, this is going to be come a real pain in the ass.

WHO CARES if they adjust their profile information? The only thing that matters is the email address is real. If you do ANYTHING to the profile, it puts it back in 'approval' mode and it doesn't tell them why and I start getting emails to the effect "I can't access anything anymore, what happened?" then I have to go into this long frikkin dissertation as to why Boonex nerds have absolutely zero social skills, blah blah blah and they might be great coders but suck at parties thing!

  • The email address needs to be validated each time it's changed. It doesn't matter if it's a new member or an existing member adjusting his/her/it profile.
  • The rest of the profile information -- WHO CARES! it's going to be mostly fake anyway with no way to certify it at any level.
  • Disabling the feature and leaving them active WON'T WORK EITHER!
I'm at a point where I can open my site. I can't do it as long as this problem still exists as the membership migration will be extreme for a week or two and all I will be doing is THIS!

FIX the validator please!

They don't have zero social skills, they are simply lacking in an end-user designer and literally don't understand the problem as they come from the programmer's end.

Make a mod that does this SkyForum and sell it for $$$$

LOL> If I HAD that skill, It wouldn't have even been a problem for me. I am trying to get someobes attention. Calling people names has always worked for me in the past...

I have resigned myself to the fact that changes will have to be done by me or someone I pay if I can't resolve it. They did provide the baseline software for free and the license does allow you to change it anyway you like and even sell it, as long as the license remains intact.

So, the solution is either dig around/learn code or hore a developer. Then resell the modification to recoup your monies :) That's what I plan to do if I actually decide to keep going with Dolphin.

I'd just love to have the patc hthat is fixing thier forum software here, without watching the nightly patch tree :)
