Verifying site in Google Webmaster Central?

How do you 'verify' your site in Google Webmaster Central?

I know there are 2 options:

1. Copy a meta tag and paste it into the site's home page in the <head> section, before the first <body> section. (no idea how to edit this in Dolphin)

2. Download an HTML file & upload it to your site (Tried this nd followed the instructions for adding a new page but I couldn't get it to work)

I can do this easily with a basic HTML site or Wordpress site,  but I'm totally new to Dolphin & haven't a clue how to do it!

Please could someone give me a clue, and if possible give a step-by-step (unless its very easy of course)

Thanks & Kind Regards

Steve

Figured it out. Got so tied up being in Dolphin, completely forgot I could simply load a plain html file to my publichtml folder and verify via that!
