Video Administration

I seem to have a bit of an issue with Video administration. I think that perhaps I'm missing something, but I cannot find where to administrate user videos.

In D6, there was an additional 'Admin' button under the Ray Video flash app to edit videos - this is missing in D7. There are also no links within video page for admins to edit the video.

Any ideas?

YES, in the flash modules section those items should open up. Once opened, at the bottom of the videos or whatever there should be some text links for settings and stuff like that. At least that's what I have in my Rayz and Boonex flash mods. there.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but we had all sorts of weird and quirky problems on our new D7 site until I completely disabled all of the phpIDS settings. It was like magic, since then little to no problems at all.

Yes I have also disabled the phpids service as well (Still getting security warning emails - but that's another issue).

Looking a bit further - the photo editing was actually a mod I made to my D6 site myself, looks like I will have to do the same again, seems daft that an admin cannot edit photos (descriptions, tags, etc), that's a pretty fundamental action for most sites. Looks like D7 is the same!?

Regarding the Video - I installed a spare license I have to see if this made a difference to it - unfortunately not. :(

Would be good if someone from Boonex could chime in here.

Boonex - Is there a video editing function within D7? or has this been removed?

If there is, where is it /  how do I enable it?

You want edit member content? You need make new membership level with all options checked. Make self member of new membership level, and you can edit member content.

Everything else, you screwed.

You too smart. You need dumb down like me. Me now dumb. Me now know logic behind illogical features. When dumb, things which make no sense to smart people now make sense. Like administrators not able to edit web site content.

LOL - I think you have a point.

Have done a little more digging - seems the ability to edit the thumbnail has been removed in D7 - this is a shame as I used to use this quite a lot - not only to get rid of the black thumbnails but also to have a little more control over exactly what was shown.

OK. So I created an additional membership level - called - Admins. I enabled all actions for this group - including edit video / edit photos.

Funny thing is - I can now see a delete button, but cannot see an edit button - seems that there is a bug (or two) here.

Whilst I am on the subject , and it's fresh in my mind - WTF is going on with the interface for permissions enabling?!?!?!!!!

There are a lot of things that I have simply learned to accept with Dolphin - missing basic features / no documentation / poor support / spaghetti logic / crap templating / DIY updates / the list goes on...

But c'mon guys -

When the box is ticked - it means it's enabled - when it's not ticked it means it's disabled!!

WTF is the permissions interface about - when it's bold it's enabled? when it's not it isn't?

Not sure who wrote that part - but please - if you're reading this - go and get yourself another job - writing software obviously isn't your thing. It wouldn't surprise me if it's the same person who is responsible for all of the other POS aspects of Dolphin (see above).

No wonder there are so many issues with this code.
