Video Comment Not Working

I finally got around to testing the video comment feature when viewing a profile.

I can record and preview my video no problem, but when I go to post the comment it says:

Video is being processed.  And continues to say this until I give up. I've tried many, many times.

Any ideas?  Is this function working well for other people's sites?

Thanks in advance.

Any ideas on what it could be or what I should be looking at?

Jason,

would like a bit of information from you:

where are you hosted?

where is your RMS coming from?

how long are you recording the video for?

do you give it ample time to convert?

Regards,

DosDawg

Thanks for your response.

I have a PV200 with Hostupon.

My RMS is with Arvixe.

My chat recordings were only about 5 seconds in length.

I waited as long as 5 minutes for it to convert.  I don't think members will wait any longer than this.

One thing you might need to know.  My flash apps stopped working about 2 weeks ago.  I could not figure out the problem.

As a result, I simply uploaded a new flash folder from the original software download to replace the one on my server.

My flash apps began working again, and I thought everything was good.  I tested video comments for the first time a few days ago.

I honestly don't know if there are any consequences for uploading a new flash folder.  I checked all the file permissions and I think they are all good.

Thanks again for any ideas you can offer.  Even just a point in a few directions might help.

check with your host to ensure that the ports are open that are needed for the RMS to function. you will need to find out from Arvixe which ports you are running on, and then ask your hosting provider if those ports are open.

Ok, but my video chat and video messaging is working.  I can record a video message in video comments, I just can't post it after I record it.   Wouldn't this mean that my RMS is working fine and the correct ports are open.  It's when I go to post the video comment, that it says "video is being processed"... and then keeps saying this until I quit.

I had to wait for few mins and refreshed the page the 'video being processed' window, then the posted video appeared to be played. Works! Also, you should  get an email from the cron job with the conversion of the video...hope that helps

Hi,

could you fix your problem already?

I have the same problem. Everything is working except the video comment - "Video is being processed". I had a look into the relevant MySQL table. When I set the video comment to status "approved" then it shows up without any problem. But I always have to do that manually.... ;-(

The default policy of my firewall is "deny". Ports 1935, 1936 and 5080 are open for any source and source port. Is there another port necessary especially for video comments? Chat, recording a video in the "upload video" section and everything is working fine, only video comments...

Okay, thanks in advance Cool

mine works. The video still is processing appears and stays long on me and need to refresh the browser to see the video, but had to get someone test on their end and the processing finished for them without waiting too long, and were able to post it. ports are the same as ur rms server settings for all.
