Video IMs - Are they limited?

I just got a report from a member that they are getting an error saying that too many people are video chatting when ttempting to access IMs and they can't even access the IMs because of such.

Does anyone know if there is a limit and if so, how can I remove or expand it.

on another note, no other members were online at the time they got this error message.

Any help?

First I have not heard of limitations to how many people can IM and/or video chat. Now with that said, if you are on shared hosting and the RMS being used is configured to only allow a specific number of connections, then you may have a problem.

 

Sorry but have to ask, you said that no one else was online at the time they received this error. If that is true, then 'who' were they trying to IM/Chat with?

The person who reported this said that they meant it was just them and the person they were trying to contact, but again wonder if the member had actually logged out at or before the time they tryed to contact them and it just didnt show them as gone yet.

Even if there were 20 people online, it still doesn't explain why they would get an error as you described.

There is a limit as to how many IM windows you can have open, but other than that... it should't matter. I don't remember what the default was... but I changed mine to 7 in the simple messenger settings.
