Video stoped working

Hi all. My video was working a couple of weeks ago and I havent realy done anything major to the site. Just some simple language edits and such. Now I go to upload a video and it wont upload. When I hit the continue button it is not clickable. When I try and record a video the record button is not clickable. When I try and use the video in chat and click the cast video button it does nothing. Everything else that requires RMS seems to be working.

Any ideas?

Just Bumpin this. I've searched some other posts and at a loss for how to fix.

Ok, can someone answer me this? To correct this problem can I just reinstall the video file, or moduals from a fresh download?

Come on can someone help me out with this. The last time this happened and I couldn't get any help for weeks with it and ended up deleting the site and starting over.

I wouldn't think that those buttons would automatically disable, especially if they were working previous to your 'edits'.

I do not see where a language edit would cause this. Can you think of what else you may have done, during editing, that 'may' have contributed?

Are you using a custom template?

If yes, have you tried using the UNI template to see if the issue still exists?

Did you install any modules during the time you noticed they stopped working?

Hi, and thanks for responding. I never thought to just use the uni temp but tried it and no change.

I did install a mod during this time but that shouldn't have affected it. It was the free games mod. Forgot I had installed that until just now. Other than that all I did was try and get the share this to work in my forum and a couple of small edits with the language editor.

I did notice just a few min ago that while testing to see what all was not working that when I uploaded a video to post to a test member wall that the video does not show on his wall but it does show in the main video page under admins wall posts. Can't upload a video anywhere else.

Was hoping that I could be able to just re upload the videos file or some other file to overwrite and correct this. Is this possible?

Sure, you can upload the originals if you want.

Remember though, when switching templates you need to clear all cache from the /cache (except the .htaccess) and /cache_public directories

Actually, try shutting off ALL cahce after you do the steps above. This includes

- Advanced Settings> Templates

- Advanced Setting > Other (disable the DB Cache and Page Block Cache)

Then try again

I tried what you sugested and turned off caching on those items as well as setting uni as default temp and then clearing the cache. Did get the video to upload in the videos. Still waiting to see if it processes. However I still can not record anything.,  The screen comes up but the record button isn't clickable. Also in chat the cast video still isn't working.  So I guess it would be easier to just re upload the files. Unless you know of something else I can do?

Can you tell me which files I would need to reinstall and do I need to uninstall the video from tools/modules?

Quote · 4 May 2011

Sounds like you dont have your RMS configured properly. RMS is required for video chat and video recording. AS far as your videos not processing yet, that may be due to your cron job settings. You can use this as reference:

If you have to re-upload files, You might be better off re-uploading whole /flash directory. Also make sure you are checking your permissions on the XML files, directories,  AND ffmpeg.exe

I'm sure that the permissions are set correct since I havent touched any of them and it was working. Could you tell me what file it is exactly to check for permisions? Did a search and kept seeing the same files you were talking about but cant find them.

Also I checked with Arvixe my host and they had to reset my rms again. They said that it got overloaded by someone else on the server. I'm not sure but I think this all started hapening after it had to be reset on thier end a while ago. Still nothing.

My video did load. I only gave it a few sec. when I posted last time.

So if I reinstall the flash directory can I just overwrite the files or do I need to uninstal, delete, and then upload?

After the reset of your RMS, are you still having all the troubles you listed before or have some been fixed by the reset?

If you re-uploaded the flash directory, there would not be any reason to uninstall anything. It was just to see you could now upload videos and/or have the option to press the record button.

Just tried them and all they have is the 7.0.6 I knew I shouldn't have deleted that zip fileLaughing

No, sourceforge has all versions of dolphin. Try this link.

Thanks for the link. I downoaded the file and reuploaded the flash directory overwriting the old files.

Still the same after uploading and reseting rms info in settings. Cant record video.

Quote · 7 May 2011

Well I tried overwriting the modules/boonex//video file with a fresh download and still nothing. Checking with Arvixe my host to see if it is anything to do with the server.

Any other ideas?

You might get a laugh out of this. I sent in a support ticket and told Arvixe that I had overwritten the files with a fresh download and still having the problems with basicly a fresh install and asked them if they could find out why I could not record video or cast video in chat.

They sent back a reply that they were able to upload a video just fine.

Duhh, I said record video not upload. Now I got to wait untill they check it out again after I replied back
