Videos and Music not playing

Hi,

As a new user of Dolphin 7, I have searched the forumtime and time again for a solution to my problem and have seen many similar queries.

I don't appear to have any Ray modules installed, all Boonex.orry if this sounds elementary

In the admin panel I have looked at the settings for the Flash modules and set the settings to default which unchecks the RMS box and  brings Boonex up as the RMS site. When I save the default settings, it doesn't save, so when I reopen the settings tab the "Use RMS" box is still ticked and the RMS server is set to 00-00-00.

Can anyone explain to me, why this is and where I can access the Ray Media Server.

Sorry if this all sounds elementary but I do not have a clue.

I have tried using Joomla Social which does not have any problems with video or music, but I like the look and feel of Dolphin 7.

Have you installed the Sounds Module?  You do it by going to Tools > Modules > Click the Checkbox of the Modules You'd like to install (I like to do them at a time so I can keep errors narrowed down if something goes wrong, but that's just me) > Look toward the bottom of that section and click on the Install button.  If you haven't done this, it may have something to do with the default skin in the .htaccess file of that particular flash app

Not sure what Chap1978 was saying there, but If I understand correctly:

In the flash modules and you click the settings, this is where you would input your RMS settings. RMS is used to enable audio/video in yoour Chatrrom, IM, and video comments, and enables the whiteboards. Depending if you have a dedicated server for web hosting or a Shared enviroment, will determine how to "enable/install" RMS. We will assume you have a shared hosting account. You will need o contact your host to see if they offer RMS for Dolphin 7. If not, there are several stand-alone RMS host packages available starting around $4.95/month.

As for your videos and music not playing, we need to know more information such as:

- Are you getting an error when uploading music or videos?

- Do you have your cron job configured properly?

- Do you have the folder permissions set correctly?

- Did the files actually upload into the /files directory of the module?

- I could keep going.....

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
