Dolphin can't work when safe mode is on on the server.
If you on a shared hosting plan then you cqan ask your provider if they can set off safe mode, but Its a small change.

If you are install dolphin on a VPS or dedicated server, you have to set off  the save mode for your domain.

Found this post: http://modmysite.com/dolphin-general-discussion-v6-00-above/8288-safe-mode.html

that kinda works around it. Not optimal though

Unfortunately my webhost has safe mode on globally for their servers due to some security problems on shared servers...

So either gotta find another host or try to work around it...

Do you know what the limitations are when safe mode is on???

If you have a host with php as apache api you could try adding the following to your main .htaccess (yoursite.com/.htaccess)

php_flag safe_mode off

with a host with php compiled as cgi try adding the following to php.ini file yoursite.com/php.ini or making one if it does not exist with the following:

safe_mode = off

or

safe_mode = 0

No guarantees but only takes a few and worth a try.
