Website Slow??

Hi all

My website seems to be running slow, i.e scrolling up and down on the website causes a jerking effect.  I have had a look around and followed the tips given by other people with the same problem but as of yet nothing has worked.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to resolve the problem?

If you want to see the website, then go to www.ifyoubelieve.net

Thank you in advance

Website speed seems fine to me.

I believe it is browser related. I believe it is because the browser has to re-render the background image as the page it scrolled over it because it is fixed and shows through between blocks. Different browsers handle it better than others.

You can test this theory by temporally removing the background image from your CSS.

Thank you for your advice.  I have tried what you said, and it did make a small difference, although not enough of a difference to live without the backgrounds. lol.

I will just have to put up with it for the moment as it is not causing too much of a problem.  Thank you anyway.

Kind regards

Like Deano said your website speed is fine.. Loading quickly.

I'm not having the jerking effect issue using Chrome. Try clearing out your browser cache & also test it out with another browser to see if you get the same effect.

I was reading the following "Reduce Load times" thread recently & used Prozalnik's .htaccess setup which helps. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the thread & you'll see it.

Loads and scrolls quickly for me too, If none of us are experiencing it the problem is more than likely on your home computer.
