What files/code do Group forums require to function?

Last year we didn't expect to need the forum with in Groups. However, now it's something we would like to explore and I can't remember what code was removed and what files were altered to implement the removal of the forum in Groups. We have the Orca Forum module working no problem, but no forum link in a group's action block (this was manually removed I seem to remember). Any thoughts or general direction pointing would be very useful, thanks! Our version is a pretty heavily modified 7.0.6.

If you modified the group module files, you can probably just re-upload the files for that module, overwriting the existing files.... Or did you manually edit the database?

I uploaded the new module files with a different folder name (as a backup plan) then renamed the original and new one so the site pointed to the new files. Cleared the cache and the sounds/files/forum privacy options on group creation were restored, but not the forum action block button or the forum tab (I suspect it was a 'system item'?) which I think used to appear above the group itself. So for now I've restored our originally modified module files again. I guess we must've removed the action block button manually in the database.

Hard to say what to do, not knowing exactly how you removed it from the groups.  I'd suggest studying the group module install.sql to see if it rings any bells.

Cheers, yeah it's hazy as it was last year and I didn't think we'd be using the forum as part of Groups. I do remember some pretty frantic deleting going on during those initial stages of Dolphinmania... so many lessons have been learned since then! In case anyone else is reading this thread... backup, backup, backup.
