Is an RMS server required if only doing youtube embeds? I'm assuming no, but I'm having consistent embed failures and I can't find the problem in my setup. Photos seem to work fine.

Hi,
Youtube embeds pull the video from Youtube. RMS is not required for youtube videos. RMS only enables Chat, Board, IM, Presence, and Recorder to work unless you have bought something form Rayz that requires RMS.
You mention photos are working fine. Just curious why and how you are relating that to youtube videos not working.
I can't remember, but you may need to make a modification to your site files in order to embed youtube videos on your site. Anyone else, please comment on this.
Where are you trying to embed them? :-) |
I just mentioned photos as an example that I can upload content to the site, so some of the basics are working. Both sound and video file uploads fail as do youtube embeds via the same video content upload page. I've scanned all my log files and can't find where it is failing. The youtube embed fails after a few seconds saying that there was a video upload failure. I get the same message for actual video uploads and on the sound page I get a similar message for those files. It doesn't matter what flavor of upload I use. |
Could a hosed ffmpeg path cause me this issue? The host tools tab in the admin panel is reporting the following...
Flash ffmpeg settings
ffmpeg output 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or bath file.
The path references look ok to me in the config files under inc, so it is not clear to me if this error actually has any impact on site operation or if there really is something broken somewhere. The path seems be truncated for some reason. C:\Program is certainly the right begining of the path. There is a space in the path after this. The path should continue with C:\Program Files\Apache....
Anybody have some pointers? |
The new RMS (RMS-LINUX-v.7.0-Beta) is installed only for Linux. |
