Where do all the noobs go for help?

Hi,

As I am looking through this forum, it strikes me that most of the "fixes" needed for D7 require coding knowledge.

Where can a novice user get answers or find basic tutorials, not written in code?

1. Ask a question in a new topic placed in the proper area of the forums
2. Wait for a reply from a knowledgable person
3. Realize no one is going to help you, and use Lycos

Is that the answer I get from Magnussoft with over 1800 posts? Any educated answers would be appreciated.

We've been answering your question very properly, actually. You may have just gotten thrown-off by our sense of humor.

next question: where are the email settings to receive an email when a post is replied to here in the forum.

Click the "Subscribe/Unsubscribe" link at the top of a topic to subscribe to it. When a new reply is posted, you will recieve a message via email.

Also, this isn't as much hazing, as being bored out of my mind on a Tuesday night.

Once you get over magnussoft's sarcasm - he (or she :-S ) is usually pretty helpful.

As well as the forums here, another couple of good Dolphin resources are jtadeo's boonexnerd.net site and Darren Powless's site - http://www.darrenpowless.com/

Both have free tutorials in easy to follow language.

That's more difficult and for that, we have reviews available. See what people are saying (and rating) about the product, and make your own final judgement. If you have any questions, always contact the seller.

I cannot give praise or hate to anyone, really, but Deano is a wonderful developer who's offerings are always a must for any Dolphin installations. I highly recommend you install his free modification Deano's Tools.

What mods you may require really depends on what kind of site you have. Generally most of the stuff you need is already included.

When considering mods - I'd also add to take a look at the market forums - usually there is a link on the mod page to the official forum thread - you might find some useful insights there.
