Where the heck is the simple messenger/messenger

I've had a heck of a day. I updated my site to 7.0.1 from 7.0 and had to redo most of my Language keys! Why? because the upgrade overwrote what I had and even after I replaced it with my back up language file, it still didn't work they way it should. I think this is something that really needs to be worked on. I'm not very happy about the idea of me having to redo my language keys every single time I upgrade this script.

After I upgraded, I installed my my modules. The two modules I installed were the simple messenger and messenger. Ok, now where are they? I believe I searched my profile and my home page for something indicating some type of simple messenger and or messenger, NOTHING. Am I looking in the wrong places? Where is it?The only thing I found was the simple messenger settings thats it.Frown

The simple messenger only works between friends. Hover your mouse over a friends avatar and a menu will pop up, you'll see it there. Also, it will appear on a friends profile page if you open it.

Also, if you uninstalled it and reinstalled it, go to membership permissions in admin and make sure the different membership types have permissions set to allow its use

The simple messenger is not friend-dependent: it will work with any member of the web site, even if you are not friends with them. To further explain, the simple messenger area for the avatar and profile menus is in the form of a text box. Enter your text into the text box, hit enter, and a simple messenger window will open in your member menu with the new conversation.

Simple messenger can also be located in the Actions block of a profile page.  Simply go to a profile you wish to chat, and if they are online, you will see a text box input under all the actions (befriend, block, etc).  Type in there and hit enter to send the message.
