Where to get Free YouTube 2.0?

I saw a couple posts of this, but no links. The only links I saw were the YouTube widget under Plugins > Ray Suite, and that has a price tag of $50, and I'm not entirely sure if that is what I'm looking for.

What I need is very simple... The script modification allowing any member to have an embedded video for ANY site to be posted in place of an uploaded video. Obviously this saves the time of my members from uploading and making a little cut and pasting very simple.

Which modification am I looking for to do this? I'm hoping it is this Free version! Hoping and praying it is!Tongue out

I came across this youtube mod, it says it replaces the normal upload with embed from youtube and keeps the rate functions etc, im not sure if it works with 6.1....but maybe it could be updated and modified to work alongside the normal uploader, so you have a choice to embed or upload...but seperates them into 2 member video categories, youtube vids and uploaded.

Saying that version 7 is around the corner which could already have this function.

Very nice! Hmmmm, this gives me a little bit of an idea.

I haven't yet tested that mod, but what if you were able to create a second download like page just like the one we already have, but with that code in it. Basically, then having a button under the video toolbar thats called... I don't know... something around the lines of "Embed Video".

I wonder if it is possible to have two different pages/buttons which would be the normal "Upload Video" and another that would be "Embed Video." God, if this could be achieved, my members would be in heaven!!!!

I just embedded this video in this post and also in a custom page on my site. Is this kind of what you're talking about?

Not quite like that, thats the way you would do it as you design your site and add content........talking about the ability for users to upload videos or embed youtube from uploadsharevideo.php and separate them into categories (my vids, youtube vids).... this would cut out the need for an overpriced youtube mod.

just trying to keep things logical for users.

Or you can do what we did ....

Get your own copy of vshare for around 10.00 USD, then make it conform in style and color to your existing community, followed by giving people a choice of belonging to either site or both. Both scripts (dolphin/vshare) support paid memberships but I would recommend using that on only one of the sites.

.

Personally, I think that with apps like vshare and numerous others that are out there, very cheap too, the dolphin mods are way too expensive. With your own youtube script the options are far superior. If you remove friends & groups in one of the apps then that'll be less confusing for the members. You can also use one of the two portals to make your entire community concept more enticing to join and with the youtube/vshare script the members can upload to their hearts delight. Here's how it works for us:

.

Link to our homepage:

.

From there, visitors can click themselves into the community (left, big orange framed image link) or they can go directly to the video portal (right side, orange framed link with movie clip). There are no references from the video portal to the community but visitors of the community can click onto the word VIDEO at the top. There, our own page comes up, explaining how both portals interact, with an invitation to join one or both portals. Granted, more clicks and more steps, but also a whole boat load of video features.

Eventually we'll cross-link more of the two scripts together for ease of navigation.
