Where to insert tracking codes?

Our websites use a small section of code at the end of the file, above the </body> tag that has some tracking functions for our marketing automation, and we also add a Live Chat tab from SnapEngage to our site pages, when working in WP and other platforms.

How would you go about doing this in Boonex?  would you add it to the _sub_footer.html in the template folder?

Is there a way to add a bit of a JS reference in the header or anything coded in HTML?

Thanks, Gary

I use the Piwik. I only put the code in the base folder and in the footer.html file.. Seems like that file never changes in all templates and upgrades..

As far as adding javascript to the header, yes you can put it there between script tags or by calling a js file in the usual manner.  However, only put the js in header if it is needed on every single page of your site.  If the js is extensive, and only used on a few specific pages, it would be best to only use it on those pages, and not call it in the header.

See my post at the end of this topic for some info on alternate methods: http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Getting-an-API-to-work-in-my-site.htm
