Why can't a member leave as a group fan?

Hello,

How can a member leave a group after becoming a fan? It seems like the creator of the group can manage members but fans cannot leave a group if they choose to do it on their own.

Why is there no way to list the groups I became  a fan for instead of listing only the groups I created myself.

Maybe second one is a necessary enhancements, but isn't the first one a serious bug? Which file or line  should we look into for fixing it immediately? Thanks for all responders…

I believe this was reported as a bug. I'd have to look into it, though.

You are right Magnussoft. The same issue posted at http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Can-t-leave-the-group-.htm before it is reported as an enhancement: Ticket #1522.

Although it was identified 4 months ago, it is still not fixed or even assigned to anyone yet. Would you know a way around it? Even what files or tables are responsible from joining a group or event so that I can try to track the problem myself. I can see all site members complaining and making a big deal out of it since we all like to be able to leave anything at anytime. Especially online...

Although the ticket was submitted for both events and groups, the fix seems to address only groups module. Is the events module written the same way so I can figure out just by the changes in groups? Should I try to find the equal parts of these changes in events and it should do the trick for events as well?
