Why we cant embed youtube video in forums?

I am using 7.0.7 and unable to embed youtube vids in forums. I tried putting in 'HTML ' box to but it doesnt show it.

It is with me only or is a bug????

Don't hold your breath waiting on an answer to this question, have been using 7 (versions 1 thru 7) and sill they don't work.

Have you tried the old embed object code?

You can embed any video you want. I have mine setup to do it and it works great. let me see if I can find the snipet for the change

 This thing worked for BLOGS, but my main concern is to get it done for GROUP FORUMS, as i need to put video tutorials there... ny help on this?

Also, if you want a better Group module, I strongly recommend Modzzz´s Premium Group that allows people to upload videos OR just embed it.  For me it works perfectly well with Premium Club (same as Group).

Now when i try to embed a document frm google docs if disppears after pressing submit.. is dolphins script is filtering it?

it does work in orca, as said already you have to use the old embed code on YT which you have to select on the embed options. Then it works fine.

 is there any limitation that it will work with a few sites only?? I am actually trying to embed powerpoints from google docs, slideshare.net and scribd.com, but not accepting it and removes it after posting.

 Dont know. It could vary with different sites, depending on their embed code.

I have found that certain templates will prevent embedding from youtube! Even in HTML blocks on normal pages, not just in Orca.

If you're running a template, try the same function when set to UNI, see if it makes a difference.

Otherwise, you could paste the embed code you are trying to use on here, or attach it to a note just incase it gets stripped by this forum!

 well where there is minimal information to go on here, i will take a couple of guesses. you tried to embed on a pages block? 

and what i think is going on there is the <iframe> tag and others are being stripped as a course of safety. 

if the block exists, you can inject this source directly into the database itself.

 On page blocks i always do it in database only.. this time its in forums. I want to embed powerpoints and other documents in forums from google docs, slideshare.net  and scribd.com as we our files module dsnt have a facility to embed n play documents.
