Will D7 work with PHP 5.3?

With the release of PHP version 6 due soon, will Dolphin 7 and or Dolphin 8 work with PHP version 5.3? let alone version 6. PHP Version 5.93 has most of the updates of version 6 included, therefore 5.3 is something of a major advance.

I have my beta 7 on php 5.3 and it works fine.

I don't know if they fixed it, or just turned off error reporting.
