Will renewing Dolphin membership early add appropriate days?

Hello All,

I am using the stock membership module on my Dolphin site. I set my upgraded (paid) accounts as yearly. That is, when the member upgrades to a paid membership, they get 365 days before needing to pay again. I am going to raise my prices for upgrading memberships and want to offer current members the chance to extend their memberships before I increase the price. My question:

If a member has say 60 days left on their current subscription and they go though and pay the upgrade fee again with the Dolphin cart, will the new amount of time be added to their subscription i.e. 60 plus 365 days or will it just revert to the 365 days? Before I suggest to my members to renew regardless of time left on their current subscription, I want to make sure it won't cause them to lose the time they have left on their current subscription.

Thanks

One way to find out would be to create a profile, go into the database and set the date where it should expire 60 days from now, set a test membership level to .10 cents, have that profile connected to the test membership, and renew the membership yourself.

My gut feeling is that it will cause your member to lose the 60 days.
