Willing to Pay! Please help!

Ok, I've asked and gotten no answers yet about the active member issue; but is there a place to request a job for someone to create a code or file so that only 'active' members can view your site? Please I am willing to pay for this mod.

But I'm not sure I understand. You can limit what users can do via the membership level actions, and the Page Access Control module allows you to further control what areas of the site can be accessed by which users.

If you mean to only allow members that pass a check to use the site, you can create a custom membership level and have the Standard level have minimal or no allowed actions, and then edit any accounts to set the new level as needed.

I used page access control , plus checked only promotion in ALL blocks on my site... now 9 out of every 10 members that join , no matter how I set their membership, can only view limited blocks and cannot upload anything at all.

Promotional is a trial membership level that all new accounts receive for a set amount of time. You can disable the Promotional membership level or adjust how many days the users have it for from Administration => Settings => Membership Levels => Settings. But it's not meant to be a permanent status.

The default membership level for new accounts (either with Promotional disabled or when the promotion time expires) is Standard. So if Standard isn't set to access anything from the Page Access Control module, that's likely why. Either enable Standard for everything or create a new membership level for verified members that has all the access.

OK, I tried that; created a new membership level.. same thing happens. I think I'll go with a fresh install [no mods added] then see if I can have control over memberships.  This is really screwed up. I like the way admin can be a member without seperate memberships (not like dolphin 6) but I don't like that you have no control over who views what, without blocking legitamate members also.

Did you setup the right permissions in the Page Access Control module and membership level actions? Are the members set to that membership level?

What do you mean by "legitimate members"? You can set under Administration => Advanced Settings => Moderation to have all new accounts require your approval before they're activated. To have further control, you can create a new membership level (e.g., Verified Member) and make sure it has the right actions set and Page Access Control permissions. Then have the Standard membership level set to as restrictive as you want. You'll need to edit the profile of any member to set their membership level to the custom one.

What I'm getting at is to stop those that are NOT activated from viewing the site. Not Activated means absolutely nothing in this software.

OK, I did a fresh install 'NO MODS' added... it looks like it must've been in one of the mods somewhere, so I guess I will add my mods 1 at a time and test after each install.... THANK YOU, Very Much for helping me through this. Greatly appreciated.

Have you tried one of the advanced page view modules on the market???? I believe deano may have a very good one. I have used them very successfully on my previous sites to restrict what members nad non members are able to see and do on the site..... very easy and very powerful.

Also, you can use this free module to block unconfirmed members from being able to peruse the site:

Rob if I'm reading the description of this one correctly he's tested it on 7.0.9.. I've never tried it but it's free and looks like it does the same thing.
