is there some kind of a Auction plug-in or add-on that i'm not seeing? I would like to add a small ebay type page to my website.. something where people can bid on something and set a starting Bid and end time.

There were some plugins years ago but they were just open source auction scrips in an iframe. Your best bet is to hire someone to create a module for you.

You can talk with Modzzz. I asked the same thing and he said he was making one but will take a while..

ok thank you everyone for your feedback. one last question if i may please. If i make a wordpress bidding site. and if and when Dolphin can do a Bidding page, can i move my members over to Dolphin? as in removing wordpress and using only Dolphin and moving over the members

 Just about anything is possible. All it takes is enough money, and enough luck to find someone that is actually capable of doing the work.  Personally, I think mixing platforms together is a concept destined for failure.  Everybody wants to integrate into Dolphin,  a big bloated third party platform like Wordpress, phpbb, ecommerce stuff, auctions.... the list goes on.  In the ten years I've been hearing people want this sort of thing, I do not know of a single successful integration of another major platform into Dolphin.  There are many good reasons for this, but I'm not inclined to go into them.  Let's just say that no one around here has the kind of money it would take to make these things happen.  Years ago, Facebook started off with $500,000 in venture capital.  Folks around here expect wondrous things for a few hundred bucks.

If someone wanted auction stuff within a Dolphin website, the only thing that would make sense to me,  would be to have a module developed using the ebay api. But that's just me.

And then use the money to hire facemen to gain even more venture capital in the millions.  As HL stated, things are possible when one has enough money to trhow at it.  Developing modules is a time consuming endeavour and developers are reluctant to spend the amount of time it takes if they are going to see little return on their investment.;

this has been requested so many times over the last few years (wp integration and decent auction module!)

but neither has happened.

There are 'hack' ways to display WP content withing D, but not on a member/permissions type level of integration that I've seen. Which of course, would be the ideal.

Best bet is if its something you seriously want, post in jobs board, or even chip in with others who may want the same thing.

Make sure you outline clearly what it is you are wanting though if going the custom route.

Auctions are quite complex things with lots of features, variables.

Deano has a number of social logins for other platforms, maybe see if he can create a WP login, that could be an alternative start to things.
