World Map - again ....

Ok. Here's the issue. I can set the map page in the admin section to a size and position that allows all the flags to display. Click save, go to the homepage and the flags on the outer fringes disappear.

If I slide the map where the Canadian flag shows, New Zealand disappears. It's like the container is too small. The map image is there, it just won't display all the flags if you try and show the whole world.

I dissected the crap out of this mod to the point where I had to reinstall the damned thing to replace all the files I mucked up.

Ok, let me put it simple.

How can I make the Map

on my front page exactly

the same as the Map in

the admin screen!??

make the maps the same size, and save the center point in admin.

I can tell you that the mapping thing is quite convoluted at best.  It changes every time a Group, Event or Ad is changed.  It is quit frustrating who ever designed it just doesn't understand how powerful this aspect of the system can be.  I am in the middle of changing it now so that it is better but still trying to figure out why it changes to a default place on the map that is the original place no matter how many times it is moved.  The fact that it does move changes the ENTIRE credibility of the map use.  I have to change it all the time to get it to act the way I want it to look.  The viewers or changing map does not act the same as the map on the site EVER....I have had the map on my home page changed and I love the result of it.  It look so much better and all the possible places can now be seen and better yet found.  The collective icons theory is such a POWERFUL feature of Google Maps but is is not being used correctly with this site.  We are just going to adopt the geocodes to "our" main map.  There has got to be some code that is causing the adjustments but when we are done it will all work......

Maps are a passion to me and they will be the way information is transferred I am convinced of that...........
