XHTML and Dolphin

I am not a web programmer and was just following a tutorial on xhtml. Cant anyone tell me why there are xhtml exceptions of 6.1.x and even more on dolphin 7?

e.g. http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.demozzz.com%2Fdolphin7a%2F

Does xhtml not really matter these days. As I understand it xhtml was designed so that small devices do not have to do all that processing on bad html pages, as these need much more interpreting power than other pages. Are those days gone? I note the page is marked as "XHTML 1.0 Transitional" which means it is compatible with both html and xhtml. Is there no sort of overhead with defining it as transitional? Maybe I am just barking up a non-exsitent tree. Just trying to figure things out from a learners point of view. Let me know where I am going wrong.

Thx

Paul

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
