YouTube Embed Not Working.

Does anyone know why my Youtube Embed does not work on the videos app? I have tried many different URL's and none work. It just gives me the standard "Error" message. Please Help! Thanks!

Are you using the full URL, or youtu.be?  I know using youtu.be doesn't work.

codman212,

Some initial questions:

1. What version of Dolphin and did the youtube embed work before?

2. Check your host tools, are all permissions correct.

3. Do you have a sample youtube url that is not working? I can try running it from my nerd site and see if it works.

Version 7.0.9 and it suddenly stopped while I was using 7.0.8. So I decided to upgrade and see if that helps. It didnt.

Here is my php configuration. I do not know if anything should be changed.

  Sub Section Directive Info Value
Language Options asp_tags Allow ASP-style <% %> tags. Off
File Uploads file_uploads Whether to allow HTTP file uploads. On
Paths and Directories include_path Windows: "\path1;\path2" .:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php
Resource Limits max_execution_time   30
Resource Limits max_input_time   60
Resource Limits memory_limit   256M
Data Handling register_globals You should do your best to write your scripts so that they do not require register_globals to be on; Using form variables as globals can easily lead to possible security problems, if the code is not very well thought of. On
Language Options safe_mode   Off
main session.save_path where N is an integer. Instead of storing all the session files in /path, what this will do is use subdirectories N-levels deep, and store the session data in those directories. This is useful if you or your OS have problems with lots of files in one directory, and is a more efficient layout for servers that handle lots of sessions. NOTE 1: PHP will not create this directory structure automatically. You can use the script in the ext/session dir for that purpose. NOTE 2: See the section on garbage collection below if you choose to use subdirectories for session storage /tmp
File Uploads upload_max_filesize Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.

64M

Do you have a youtube video link that does not work when you try to embed the file on your site? It will at least help to determine if it's the youtube vid or your install/serverr.

Of course I've tried over 10 different Youtube URLS. This one doesnt even work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AANZvYn5uk

ok, #2 is confirmed. It is your server setup or your files. The link you gave me embeds fine at my nerd site.

Next step is to check your permissions. If you go to admin >Tools > Host Tools > Permissions

If you see a red, then that permission has to be reset. It would be under the Current Level column.

Basically, it should say Writable for the listed files and Executable for ffmpeg. If not, update the permissions.

Everything is green and writable. I appreciate your help with this. It really means alot. Could it be a server misconfiguration?

server configuration. http://awesomescreenshot.com/0022qxj7e

Check your server config against this list:

http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolTech

That is the base requirement for installs and your server must match that list.

And finally, have you tried a fresh base install?
