YouTube videos in Groups

Can anyone tell me why its not possible to use the same uploader options in groups? For example, you cannot embed Youtube videos in Groups. Now before anyone says there are group modules in the Market that will let you do this, I already know this.

This also tells me that its possible to do. So why isnt it available by default? I personally think you should have the same uploader options as you do in the videos module (flash, regular, embed, record)

marketing strategy. look at all of the default modules. they are each one lacking functionality that would bring them out of the dark ages. though, from an economic perspective leaving off just enough to be able to provide an enhanced version, is crucial to income.

even today, i am still sitting here wondering, why are the modules not set to install with an order of precedence, and instead of showing a failed to install message, why not state that there is a dependency for that module to be installed?

there are so many unanswered questions about this script.

why has the flash apps not been updated since 1987

why does RMS crash out after 2GB of RAM usage

why does the mass mailer not function

why is the language settings "search" not actually a search but a filter

why are the page design elements so limited that you have to stick to a box design

why do you have recompile the language strings

why do you have to clear the cache every time you blink your eyes

why are there no moderation controls

why are those default membership levels not removable

why is there not better control over Access to each  module utilizing membership levels

why why why why

nobody knows, but these are legitimate questions, but they get ignored, because they are not important at boonquarters.

I have to agree with ya Dos. There are many elements that could easily be improved which Boonex choose not to improve.  If a coder on here can place the video options into groups for me for £50 within 24 hours, then why the heck cant Boonex do the same??? It is absolute madness. The irony is that they have probably the best potential script on the market and they choose not to make it into what it could and should be.

Peronaly I believe this is commercial suicide on behalf of Boonex, as you ca bet ya ass that the competition would not do this.

I agree with both of ya. There are improvements that need to be made.

The deal with the video uploader in Groups (I think in events too) is that it uses the same default video function. If that is the case, then why the 'Choose Uploader' option is not available is beyond me.

As you stated, if someone can 'add' that ability for $50, obviously it can be done.
