adding Google +1 and facebook like buttons

Hi i`m trying to install goggle +1 button and face book Like button does anyone know how to do it?  I'm using D7.7

yes at the header of my site i try to do it few times but it doesnt work for me i dont know if im doing the right pages i want it to be next to my login/out

Take a look at www.witchbook.net, All of the Google+, Facebook Like, and Stumbleupon button codes on that site are located in the header.inc.php file.  Right-click and view source should give away the code.
