allow users custom css

Hi,

Is there a way to allow the users to have their own custom css for the whole platform.

Right now I'm using the included "Customize Profile" mod to allow the users to change the css on the profile page, but I would like them to have this ability on all pages.

Maybe it's possible to hack the Customize Profile mod so it extends to all pages, not just the profile?

Alternatively to make it work on their blog page. The thing is that most users wants to customize their blog, and it would be great to allow them to do so on the Dolphin platform as well.

Any help or pointers will be appreciated.

Best,

Eric

You will have to request a job in the jobs section on that one as you will have to hire someone to do it.

The customizer is written by boonex and as such they also made all the needed changes to the core code for the profiles to use the custom css if it is found. None of the other dolphin modules have these changes.

Doing what you ask will not only require a rewrite to the profile customizer but to every other module you have installed on your system.

Unless someone can find a much simpler solution i would have to say, no. It can't be done. At least not without a lot of work which may likely prevent you from ever updating to a newer version of dolphin because all of those needed core changes will have to be done again after every upgrade.

Ok, thanks for that information.

But that means that my alternative solution, to make it possible for the blog module, or the personal blog page, should be possible.

Shouldn't it just be,

if the blog owner is 1, look for css in /css/1.css

And then somehow let the users create and upload styles to that folder. Precisely like the Customize Profile, that code can probably be re-used if its allowed by boonex.

I'll look into how much that would cost to produce. Shouldn't be too much if its just for the blog.

Or if anyone is reading this that want to take on the task, how much would it cost.

Best,

Erik

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
