Not sure if you are installing your site on a dedicated server or you are using a shared hosting.. Which makes a big difference.. If you have a dedicated server, you need to install & configure RMS Media Server properly. If this is a shared hosting, you will need to contact the hosting company and ask them if they have RMS Media Server installed..

But, to save yourself some headaches, I would  consider hosting your D7 site on a hosting company that is certified by Boonex. One of them is
zarconia.net which is reasonable and they configured their servers to work properly with Dolphin. For $4/mth, you can test your site in no time..

The RMS server has nothing to do with the processing of sound and video files. RMS is used for video chat and the whiteboard. You will need that only if your using the flash video chat with webcam support. RMS is only needed for the webcams. chat+ does not require RMS. So if you need the webcams, then yes, you will need to get a RMS server setup or see if your host provides the RMS service.

You also need to make sure CRON is working. During the install of dolphin there was a step that provided a cron command that you should have added to your servers cron jobs. It's a manual server setup step, and it appears you may have skipped it. The required cron job must be setup for uploaded video and sound files to be processed.

Thanks Dino for clarifying that..

As for the cron job, here is a sample from my site:
*  *  *  *  *  /usr/local/bin/php -q /home/username/public_html/periodic/cron.php

Please note,  the path can vary based on the type of cPanel you are using..

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
