changing colour of new mail counter

I have the following little problem.

When my users receive a new mail, the counter text is black and so is my background - so it's not excatly visible. Anyone here, who knows where to change that?

Firefox with firebug will help you with this.  You'll need to highlight the 1 and then right click and tell it to inspect.  That will give you the file & line # that needs adjusted to fix this problem.  More than likely, your having this in several areas and not just the 1 your seeing.
