desktop App

I recently installed 7.0.2 I am trying to get the desktop app to work but everytime i go to install it, it tells me:

The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.

I have tried to install I have unistalled AIR reinstalled everything, tried it on different computers and OS systems and I keep getting the same error. I tried to unistall the module and reinstall it, when i go to boonex site and try theirs it works fine, so at this point I am thiniking it is a scripting error here...anyone have any ideas??

Yeah the desktop app is a mess at this point..... you are not the only one.

The only thing i can say is  some days it works and some days it dont..  I guess 7.0.3 well be out in the next few weeks so it might be working better in that version.

Naw mine is just telling me that there is an "installer package error" it wont even let me install it....

It's weird, because mine worked consistently the first week of the install, then nothing. Does the app depend upon BoonEx servers?

That does not work.... Installs fine - crashes on Create Agent. Run agent - it crashes.

When I run the desktop download from my site.

I have setup the backend  Flash etc.

Where can I get a new AIR file?

I am just about to go prime - but I wish a developer would jump in here.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rayz is the developer of the Adobe AIR app, so if you have any issues, you may want to contact him.

When the Desktop app module is installed, Dolphin queries http://air.boonex.com/desktop/, which takes information sent by Dolphin and dynamically compiles a Desktop app compatible with the site. Once the app is created, it is downloaded and made available. Editing the Desktop app yourself may cause it to no longer install, due to it being signed and hashed.

Can anyone tell me how to re-installed the desktop mod - it is part of the flash mod and gets in stalled with the install of the site.

Maybe this will recreate the .air file or install file?

You can uninstall the Desktop module by navigation to administration, tools, modules, and checking the related module and clicking the uninstall option. To reinstall it, just recheck it and click the install option.

what is this desktop module for ?? i have no idea what are the functions of it. how do i access it after login as a member ??

The Desktop module allows users of your site to download an Adobe AIR application that allows them to connect to your site from their desktop. Once logged in through the Desktop app, you can chat with users through the Chat module, as well as the Messenger module. I believe you can also check your mail. The features are pretty limited.

Thanks for the fix and the info on what it does.

If it does not work - Un-install - re-install desktop mod.

My origional .air file was 4kb big - on re-install it was 143kb big.

Works now.

I've tried to install, uninstall, I even reinstalled D7. Using 7.0.2. The installer download gives me a 173 byte file.
