Anton has a paid mod that could to the first- it is called member level block control or something like that.   Would allow you to put a block in one of the columns, then block or grant access depending on member level.  One of the other members - Zarcon I think, has a mod to redirect to another page that could help you with the second thing you want.

thanks CALTRADE :)

i was wondering if there can be anything done in the admin panel to get this done???

do we have an option to have a default page to appear on site launch???

any more easier solution??? getting a paid module will hurt a lot financially :) :)

thanks and regard

I think so, but not sure at all, I did not check it.

If you enter admin panel>Builders>Pages Block>Home page   and you click in any block you can allow see this block to Guesst and Members. Try to check out guesst all blocks you don not want they can see. If you got 3 columns move all blocks you want to hide to the same column, maybe homepage will show 2 or 3 columns depending if they are guess or members

Exactly mdroca, same is what i have done for my website, but the issue i am left here with is, i have a good structure of 3 columns in logged in state,

when logged out as guest, gets a 2 column page with 3rd column left empty and that looks weired.....?? hope u get my point?? i have two block one for right and one for left, here since it is 3 columned, one column is blank....

Will try to give you another solution.

Deanos got a good mod for redirect people to the page you want: "Redirect page after logon".

You can do your homepage with only 2 columns, and create homepage2 with 3. When a member enter redirect them to this.

But this is not a very good idea lol! becouse is better that members enter to their account, even you would delete index links nevermind if members clicks in index will see the 2 columns.

I don not know if there is a mod (Caltrade say yes),  if yes is better to buy it. Buying, aid experts still want to investigate further and make more and better modules that at the end help all us to get better sites.

Thanks for trying your best to get me a solution... hope to solve it with out the module purchase,

if it does not wrks will have to give feast to market people :)

thanks buddy :)

If you want to do this without a module purchase, you could use the mod okweb did at this link:

http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/?action=goto&search=1#topic/Premium-members-content-area-fishing-for-ideas.htm

Then apply Deano's redirect mod (not Zarcon as I said earlier).   It might work.

Can you not go into Admin Panel, Builders, Page Blocks and choose Homepage from the drop menu. This will bring up your 3 column page. Click each one of the blocks in whichever column you want to hide and remove the check mark from visible for: visitors

I havent tested this but this should work.

After you have done that clear the /cache (except for .htaccess) and the /cache_public directories.

Nothing to see here

Aggree with you Zarcon... exactly this is what i have right now, but the column 1 and 2 get left aligned, leaving empty space in the third column which looks odd,

In case we have two columns as per our dolphin, it would give us two columns occupying the whole page leaving no empty space.. hope you are getting  the issue and my point now..

I wil try harder to sort this out.

@CALTRADE

thanks pal, will give this a try and let you know what happens :) fingers crossed...

mahaveersingh - I read too much into your original post - I think Zarcon is right.   As I understand it, you want the third column to disappear entirely for non-members.   My approach will still display that column.  Couldn't you just put some harmless content in that third column - and html description of the site or something.  Make that visible for guests, but not members.  That way at least the column won't be empty for people who are not logged in.
